¡¡¡¡BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior U.S. Navy commander has said that the United States military is ready for any attempts by Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz. He made the comments at a briefing at the fleet¡¯s base in the Gulf state of Bahrain.

¡¡¡¡Vice Admiral Mark Fox, Regional Commander of US Navy, said,"We have watched with interest their development of long range rockets and short, medium and long range ballistic missiles and of course the subject of the day is the development of their nuclear programme and a great deal of concern in the international circle about the possibility of the Iranians developing nuclear warhead. And so in the meantime, the way that we have structured ourselves in such a way to counter that, we have ballistic missile force, we have ballistic missile capable ships, that operate in the region consistently and we maintain a forceflow, as I said it is a rotational force."
