¡¡¡¡BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Senior UN nuclear inspectors are in Tehran, hoping to shed light on Iran¡¯s atomic work. Their visit comes as Iranian lawmakers look set to ban oil exports to Europe in response to sanctions.Yang Yan has the story.

¡¡¡¡The visit comes at a time of escalating tension between Tehran and the West over Iran¡¯s nuclear activities. The six-man team will stay in Iran for three days to address suspicions regarding the country¡¯s atomic ambitions.

¡¡¡¡Iran denies allegations from the US and its allies, saying its nuclear program is for peaceful means and is a basic right of the nation. The UN nuclear watchdog issued a report on Iran last November, detailing suspected atomic weapons research and development.

¡¡¡¡The report has fuelled international concerns, which has led to more sanctions on Iran. In turn, Tehran is threatening to halt oil exports to the EU. The outcome of the trip looks likely to determine whether Iran will face further isolation.
